How the Rainy Season Risk works
Rain changes a trip more than temperature does: closed trails, rough seas, slow roads. Choose a country and a month to see the usual rainfall and number of rain days from our guide tables, with the whole year as a bar chart. The risk label uses a simple, published rule: up to five rain days is low, six to eleven is moderate, twelve or more is high.

Average rainfall (mm) and rain days for the 16 countries with climate tables; guide notes for the rest. Scores run from 1 to 10 and come from the month-by-month verdicts in the When to Go series. Where our data does not cover a figure, the tool says so: check official sources for that detail.
