How the Family Trip Timing Score works
Children change what a good month looks like: heat, long queues and wet days matter more. This score starts from the month score in our guide and adjusts it for heat, rain and crowds, using the climate tables where we have them, and for the ages of your children. The formula is shown with the result, so you can see what moved the number.
Where the data comes from
Month score, average high, rain days, crowd index and family tags from our guides, combined with a published formula. Scores run from 1 to 10 and come from the month-by-month verdicts in the When to Go series. Where our data does not cover a figure, the tool says so: check official sources for that detail.
